The hard alloy used in wire drawing dies is a low-cobalt carbide with the main raw materials being 99.95% tungsten carbide and a small amount of cobalt-hence the name tungsten-cobalt alloy. Hard alloy wire drawing dies show good wear resistance, impact resistance, polishability, and corrosion resistance. They are easy to repair, cost-effective, and are commonly used as core materials for wire drawing dies, widely applied in the drawing molds for coarse and medium wires. By improving the composition and structure of the hard alloy, controlling the fluctuation of carbon content, and refining the particles of carbides, the performance of the material can be enhanced, extending its lifespan.
